In 1919 U.S. presidentÂ Woodrow WilsonÂ won theÂ Nobel Peace PrizeÂ for his role as the leading architect of the League. Of the League's 42 founding members, 23 (24 countingÂ Free France) remained members until it was dissolved in 1946. The Soviet Union became the only member to expelled. USA never became a part of it.
